The STERLING 55wj-1-6a is a 6-foot hydronic baseboard enclosure designed for residential hot water heating systems. This is an enclosure-only unit — it houses the heating element assembly without including the element itself. Built around a slim, low-profile cabinet, it is engineered for installations where wall space is limited. The enclosure features radius-formed end covers, heavy-gauge snap-in brackets that require no sheet metal screws, and a Silent Glide Shoe that allows the heating element to expand and contract during thermal cycling without producing noise. Finished in white, it integrates cleanly into standard residential interiors. Installation is handled by licensed HVAC technicians or qualified plumbers familiar with hydronic systems.
This enclosure is part of the Sterling Kompak series, designed for residential hydronic baseboard heating applications. Its low-height profile makes it a practical choice for rooms with limited wall clearance, such as beneath windows or in tight perimeter spaces. The telescoping fill-in section design eliminates field cutting in most configurations. Splice plates are included with 6-foot lengths, simplifying multi-section runs. The unit is suited for residential hot water baseboard systems where a replacement or new-construction enclosure is needed without requiring a full element-and-enclosure assembly.
Designed as an OEM-style enclosure replacement for residential hydronic baseboard heating systems using Sterling Kompak series components.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician or plumber experienced with hydronic heating systems. Shut off and depressurize the hot water heating circuit before removing or installing any baseboard components. Ensure the heating element is fully seated within the Silent Glide Shoe before securing the enclosure to avoid restricting thermal expansion. Follow all applicable local mechanical codes during installation.
