The STEEL CITY 52C512-25 is a square-cut raised plaster ring designed for use with 4-inch square electrical boxes. It provides a 2-inch raised profile and a single-gang device opening, creating the transition surface between the outlet box and the finished wall or tile surface. Fabricated from hot rolled pre-galvanized AISI C-1008 steel meeting ASTM G90-U with a 0.062-inch wall thickness, it delivers the corrosion resistance and structural rigidity expected in commercial and residential rough-in work. The inner ring adjusts quickly via a quick-release locking mechanism, and a built-in measured rule on the inner ring simplifies pre-fab settings before drywall is hung. Sold in a standard carton of 25.
This plaster ring is suited for new construction and remodel electrical installations in residential and light commercial applications. It is used wherever a 4-inch square box requires a single-gang raised extension to bring the device mounting surface flush with or proud of drywall, tile, or other finish wall materials. The 2-inch raised depth accommodates tile walls and similar thick finish assemblies. The adjustment screws are positioned outside the inner ring, preserving the full 14.8 cubic inch device capacity and keeping critical box area clear for wiring and devices. The locking mechanism sits behind the outer ring, protecting it from router damage and excess mudding during finish work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation plaster ring for 4-inch square electrical outlet boxes requiring a single-gang, 2-inch raised cover in residential and commercial wiring applications.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians in accordance with applicable NEC requirements for outlet box fill and device mounting. De-energize the circuit and verify zero voltage before working inside or around any outlet box. Set the inner ring depth using the built-in rule before the drywall or tile finish is applied to minimize adjustment after mudding. Confirm the total box fill, including conductors, devices, and fittings, does not exceed the combined capacity of the box and ring assembly.
