The STEEL CITY 52C185/8-25 is a raised-type square box plaster ring designed for two-gang device installations in standard 4-inch square electrical boxes. Constructed from hot-rolled pre-galvanized AISI C-1008 steel meeting ASTM G90-U at 0.062 inches thickness, this ring provides a durable, corrosion-resistant mounting surface for devices in finished wall applications. The ring raises 5/8 inch from the box face, accommodating drywall depth and delivering flush device mounting after finishing. Internal capacity is 7.3 cubic inches. Sold in a standard package of 25 units per carton, this ring is suited for both new construction rough-in and retrofit work performed by licensed electricians.
This plaster ring fits 4-inch square electrical boxes in residential and light commercial construction. It is commonly installed during rough-in framing before drywall, then adjusted to final depth as finishing progresses. The two-gang opening accepts standard duplex receptacles, decorator-style devices, or two single-gang devices side by side. The quick-release locking mechanism allows fast depth adjustment without special tooling, and the measured rule printed on the inner ring supports accurate pre-drywall setting during prefabrication. Adjustment screws are positioned outside the inner ring to preserve maximum interior capacity for devices.
Designed as a two-gang raised plaster ring for use with standard 4-inch square electrical outlet boxes. Compatible applications include residential and light commercial new construction and remodel wiring where a 5/8-inch raised two-gang ring is required.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). De-energize the circuit and verify zero voltage at the box before handling any devices or wiring. Set ring depth using the integral measured rule before drywall is applied to reduce field adjustment time. Ensure the outer ring sits flush against the finished wall surface and the locking mechanism is fully engaged before securing devices.
