The STARRETT 99186-06-06 is a welded bi-metal bandsaw blade built for demanding metal-cutting applications in professional shop environments. The blade measures 78 inches in length and 1/2 inch in width, with a 0.025 inch thickness and a variable 10-14 TPI pitch pattern. The cutting teeth are high speed steel, grade M42, set in a raker pattern with a positive rake angle and straight tooth form. This blade is part of the Intenss PRO-DIE series and is designed for contour cutting on power bandsaws. It is installed by machinists, fabricators, and maintenance technicians working with metal-cutting horizontal or vertical bandsaw equipment.
This blade is suited for cutting steel, stainless steel, exotic steel alloys, and non-ferrous metals in both production and toolroom settings. The flexible back construction allows the blade to run consistently on bandsaw wheels without fatigue cracking during continuous-duty cycles. The variable pitch design reduces vibration and harmonics across a range of feed rates and material thicknesses, making it effective for structural profiles, solid bar stock, and tubing. It is appropriate for both commercial fabrication shops and industrial maintenance operations where a variety of metal types are cut on a regular basis.
Designed as a welded replacement blade for power bandsaws accepting a 78 inch blade length with a 1/2 inch blade width, compatible with machines configured for the Intenss PRO-DIE series specifications.
Bandsaw blade installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or equipment technician with the machine fully de-energized and locked out per applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Verify wheel diameter, blade guide spacing, and tension specifications on the host machine before mounting. Inspect blade guides, wheel tires, and tracking adjustment before tensioning the new blade. Never exceed the bandsaw manufacturer's rated blade speed for the material being cut.
