The STARRETT 68132 is a mechanical inside micrometer designed for precise internal bore and hole measurements in machine shop, toolroom, and field service environments. It features a ratchet stop thimble for consistent measuring pressure and self-centering contacts that position the instrument for true, repeatable readings. The 68132 covers a measuring range up to 5/8 inch (0.6250 inches) with a graduation of 0.0003 inches and an accuracy of 0.000150 inches. Measuring faces are solid carbide for long service life under repeated use. Machinists, tool and die makers, and precision measurement technicians are the primary installers and users of this instrument.
The STARRETT 68132 is suited for measuring internal diameters in precision machining, manufacturing inspection, and maintenance applications. It performs well in both shop and field settings where bore size verification is required. The instrument includes a setting ring with a 0.5000-inch diameter for calibration reference. With a gage depth of 2-7/16 inches and a maximum extension rod length of 6.0000 inches, it accommodates a range of bore depths. Three contact points provide stable, self-centering positioning during measurement. This micrometer ships complete with a case, contacts, instructions, setting ring, and wrenches.
Designed as a precision inside micrometer for use in toolroom and machine shop applications requiring internal bore measurement within the 0.6250-inch maximum range.
This instrument is handled and calibrated by machinists or metrology technicians. Before use, verify calibration against the included setting ring according to the manufacturer instructions. Keep measuring faces clean and free of debris to maintain accuracy. Store in the included case when not in use to protect the carbide contacts and thimble mechanism.
