The STARRETT 65641 is a carbide-tipped hole saw designed for cutting clean, accurate holes in a wide range of hard and abrasive materials. With a 4.5-inch saw diameter and a 1.625-inch cutting depth, this tool handles thicker substrates that standard bi-metal saws struggle with. The toothed cutting edge and constant pitch pattern deliver consistent chip removal and reduced binding during the cut. It is used by plumbers, HVAC technicians, electricians, and general contractors who need a reliable, reusable hole saw for demanding job-site materials.
This hole saw is suited for applications in residential and commercial construction and renovation work. It is rated for use in fiberglass, Formica, masonry brick, MDF, plaster, and suspended flooring materials. The 4.5-inch diameter corresponds to a 4-inch pipe size compatibility, making it a practical choice when cutting penetrations for 4-inch pipe runs through walls, ceilings, or floors. The saw ships as a single unit without an arbor, so a compatible arbor must be sourced separately before use.
Compatible with 4-inch pipe size applications. Designed for use in fiberglass, Formica, masonry brick, MDF, plaster, and suspended floor materials. An arbor is not included and must be purchased separately.
This hole saw is installed by a licensed tradesperson or experienced contractor using a compatible arbor and a variable-speed drill or drill press. Before cutting, confirm the arbor shank matches the drill chuck size and that the saw is securely threaded onto the arbor. Wear appropriate eye and respiratory protection when cutting masonry, fiberglass, or MDF, as these materials generate fine particulate. Do not exceed the recommended drill speed for the material being cut, as overheating will degrade carbide tips.
