This saw is built without an integrated arbor, so it pairs with a separately sourced arbor sized for 3-inch pipe tap compatibility. The STARRETT 65632 is suited for cutting fiberglass, Formica, masonry brick, MDF, plaster, and suspended flooring materials. HVAC technicians use it when penetrating fiberglass duct board or masonry walls for duct and pipe pass-throughs. Plumbers rely on it for cutting through plaster and MDF flooring panels during rough-in work. Its carbide-tipped construction holds an edge longer than standard steel saws when working repeatedly through abrasive or laminated materials, reducing the need for frequent tool changes on multi-penetration jobs.

Install the hole saw onto a compatible arbor before use and confirm the arbor is fully seated and secured. Always wear eye protection and a dust mask when cutting masonry, fiberglass, or MDF, as these materials produce fine particulate. When cutting into walls or floors, verify the location is clear of live electrical wiring, plumbing, or structural members before beginning the cut. Operate at a drill speed appropriate for the material being cut to avoid overheating the carbide tips.
