The STARRETT 65627 is a carbide-tipped hole saw designed for cutting clean, accurate holes through demanding non-metal materials. The saw measures 2-3/8 inches in diameter with a cutting depth of 1-5/8 inches. Its toothed cutting edge and constant pitch pattern maintain consistent bite throughout the cut, reducing chatter and improving hole quality. This saw is sold individually without an arbor, so a separately purchased arbor is required before installation. It is suited for tradespeople who need reliable cutting performance through layered, abrasive, or brittle substrates on the job site.
The STARRETT 65627 is intended for use in applications involving fiberglass, Formica, masonry brick, MDF, plaster, and suspended flooring materials. These are common materials encountered by HVAC technicians, electricians, and general contractors when routing ductwork, conduit, or cable through walls, floors, and ceilings. The 1-5/8 inch cutting depth accommodates typical material thicknesses found in residential and light commercial construction. This saw is not designed for cutting ferrous or non-ferrous metals.
Suitable for cutting fiberglass, Formica, masonry brick, MDF, plaster, and suspended floor materials. This saw is non-arbored and requires a separately sourced compatible arbor for use.
Installation should be performed by a qualified tradesperson using a drill or drill press with an appropriate arbor rated for hole saw use. Ensure the workpiece is secured before beginning the cut to prevent movement. When cutting masonry or plaster, eye protection and a dust mask are recommended per applicable safety standards. Do not use this saw on metal substrates, as the carbide-tipped teeth are not rated for ferrous or non-ferrous metal cutting.
