The STARRETT 63684 is an internal chamfer gage designed to measure the depth and angle of internal chamfers in machined bores, drilled holes, and countersunk features. It uses a 3-blade plunger mechanism that seats consistently against the chamfer surface, providing repeatable readings without a setting master. The measurement range spans 0 to 3/8 inches in depth and 0 to 90 degrees in included angle. The contact surfaces are fully ground from hardened tool steel for durability and accuracy. Machinists, tool and die makers, and quality control technicians use this gage on the shop floor to verify chamfer geometry to print specifications.
The 63684 is suited for inspection and production use in machine shops, metalworking facilities, and precision manufacturing environments. It applies to internal chamfers on any workpiece where bore entry angle verification is required. The gage ships in a deluxe padded case for storage and transport protection. Electronic indicator configurations are available on request for applications that require digital output or data logging integration.
Designed as an OEM-style internal chamfer measuring tool suitable for use on machined bores, drilled and countersunk holes, and any internal chamfer feature requiring included angle verification up to 90 degrees.
This gage is a hand-held precision measurement instrument and does not require mechanical installation. Handle with clean, dry hands or lint-free gloves to prevent corrosion on ground surfaces. Store in the included padded case when not in use to protect the plunger blades and dial mechanism from damage. Do not exceed the rated measurement range, as forcing the plunger beyond its designed travel can damage the blade assembly.
