The STARRETT 57627 is an A2 air-hardening tool steel flat stock bar measuring 3/4 inch thick, 2-1/2 inches wide, and 18 inches long. A2 tool steel is a versatile, medium-alloy, air-hardening grade known for its dimensional stability during heat treatment and good wear resistance. This flat stock is supplied in the annealed condition, ready for machining before hardening. Thickness, width, and squareness tolerances are held to +0.010 to +0.015 inches, and length tolerance is +0.250 inch.
