The STARRETT 57019 is an O1 oil-hardening tool steel flat stock bar measuring 0.5 inches thick, 2 inches wide, and 18 inches long. O1 is a general-purpose tool steel known for good machinability in the annealed state and reliable hardening response when quenched in oil. This stock is used by tool and die makers, machinists, and fabricators who need a ready-to-machine blank for punches, dies, gauges, and similar tooling. Thickness and width tolerances run +0.010 to +0.015 inches. Length tolerance is +0.25 inches. Edge squareness is held to 0.003 inches per inch, giving a flat, consistent starting profile for close-tolerance work.
