The STARRETT 54621 is an A2 air-hardening tool steel flat stock bar used in toolmaking, die work, and precision machining applications. It measures 0.25 inches thick, 1.25 inches wide, and 18 inches long, with a weight of 1.6 pounds. Manufactured to AISI A2 tool steel specification, this flat stock holds tight dimensional tolerances: plus or minus 0.001 inches on thickness, plus or minus 0.001 inches on squareness, plus 0.000 to 0.005 inches on width, and plus 0.250 inches on length. A2 tool steel offers good wear resistance and dimensional stability through the air-hardening process, making it a reliable choice for blanks, punches, gauges, and similar toolroom components.
This flat stock is suited for machine shops, toolrooms, and die shops requiring a machinable blank that can be finish-ground and hardened in-house.
