The STARRETT 54470 is an O1 oil-hardening tool steel flat stock bar intended for toolmakers, machinists, and die makers who require a machinable blank that can be hardened after final shaping. AISI Type O1 tool steel offers good machinability in the annealed state and achieves high surface hardness when oil quenched.
