The STARRETT 54394 is an O1 oil-hardening tool steel flat stock bar used in toolmaking, die making, jig fabrication, and precision machining applications. Manufactured to AISI Type O1 material specification, this flat stock measures 5/16 inches thick, 1 inch wide, and 36 inches long, and weighs 3.19 pounds. Thickness and squareness tolerances are held to plus or minus 0.001 inches, making this bar suitable for applications that require tight dimensional control before and after heat treatment. This O1 tool steel flat stock is used in job shops, machine shops, and toolrooms for producing punches, dies, gauges, bushings, and custom tooling components. Proper eye protection, gloves, and machine guarding are required during all cutting and grinding operations. Do not attempt to heat treat this material without verified equipment and process controls.
