The STARRETT 54328 is an O1 oil-hardening tool steel flat stock bar intended for tool and die makers, machinists, and metalworking professionals who need a reliable, ready-to-machine blank. It measures 5/32 inches thick, 1-1/2 inches wide, and 36 inches long, and ships in an unhardened state so it can be machined, ground, or shaped before heat treatment. Dimensional tolerances are held tight from the mill: thickness is controlled to plus or minus 0.001 inches, length is plus 0.015 inches, and width runs zero to minus 0.005 inches. These tolerances reduce setup time and material removal during final sizing.
