The STARRETT 54144 is an O1 oil-hardening tool steel flat stock bar used in toolmaking, die work, punches, gauges, and precision machined components. Ground and cut to close tolerances, this flat stock is supplied in the annealed condition and is intended to be hardened by the installer through an oil-quench heat treatment process. At 7/16 inches thick, 3 inches wide, and 18 inches long, the bar is sized for small-to-medium toolroom applications. Thickness and squareness tolerances are held to plus or minus 0.001 inches, making it suitable for applications where dimensional accuracy before hardening is critical. The piece weighs approximately 6.69 pounds.

Installation Notes
