The STARRETT 50631 is a single-leaf radius gage used to inspect and verify convex and concave radii on machined, fabricated, or formed workpieces. The leaf measures an 11/64-inch (0.171875 inches) radius and features a satin chrome finish over stainless steel construction for corrosion resistance and long service life in shop environments. Machinists, tool and die makers, and precision fabricators use radius gages to confirm fillet and corner radii during in-process inspection or final quality checks. The compact, lightweight design at 0.05 pounds makes it easy to handle at the bench or on the floor.
This gage is suited for use in precision machining shops, metal fabrication facilities, and quality control stations. It covers both convex and concave profiles on a single leaf, allowing the technician to verify inside corners and outside radii without switching tools. Typical applications include checking turned, milled, ground, or stamped parts where radius tolerances are specified on engineering drawings.
Designed as a standard single-leaf radius gage for general precision inspection use on machined and fabricated components where an 11/64-inch radius specification must be verified.
No installation is required for this inspection tool. Clean the workpiece contact surface before gaging to prevent debris from affecting the fit. Hold the gage leaf flat against the radius being inspected and check for light gaps to assess conformance. Store in a dry location away from abrasive materials to preserve the finished edges.
