The STARRETT 50270 is a set of trammel points designed for layout, scribing, and large-radius measurement work. Machined from forged steel with a wrinkle finish, these points mount to a trammel beam and allow technicians to scribe arcs and transfer measurements that exceed the range of standard calipers or dividers. The 5-inch leg length provides reach for larger layout tasks. Two adjustable points are included in the set. Trammel points are a standard tool in precision layout and fabrication shops, and are regularly used by machinists, pipefitters, and sheet metal workers who require accurate large-span scribing.
The 50270 is suited for use in fabrication, maintenance, and tool room environments where beam-style layout tools are required. The forged steel construction holds up to repeated shop use. This set is designed for use with the Starrett 50A trammel beam. The adjustable points allow for fine positioning along the beam for repeatable measurement and scribing across a range of span distances.
Designed for use with the Starrett 50A trammel beam.
Trammel points are installed by machinists and layout technicians onto a compatible trammel beam. Before use, ensure points are securely clamped to the beam at the desired span distance. Verify point tips are sharp and properly seated to maintain scribe accuracy. No power source or electrical isolation is required for this tool.
