The STARRETT 40265 is a bi-metal power hacksaw blade designed for use in reciprocating power hacksaw machines. At 17 inches in length, 1-3/8 inches wide, and 0.062 inches thick, this blade is built to handle demanding cutting tasks in metal fabrication and industrial maintenance environments. The constant pitch pattern runs at 10 teeth per inch (TPI), providing consistent chip clearance and steady cutting action through a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Bi-metal construction bonds a high-speed steel tooth edge to a flexible alloy steel back, giving the blade both cutting performance and resistance to breakage under load. Licensed HVAC technicians, pipefitters, and metalworkers commonly rely on power hacksaw blades for rough cutting pipe, bar stock, and structural shapes.
This blade is suited for use on stationary power hacksaw machines found in shop and field service settings. The 10 TPI constant pitch makes it appropriate for cutting medium-section solid stock and heavy-wall tubing where a coarser pitch would be too aggressive and a finer pitch would load up. The toothed edge and pinhole mounting configuration allow it to seat properly in standard power hacksaw frames. It is sold individually, making it practical for single-blade replacement on a job site or in a shop setting.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement blade for standard stationary power hacksaw machines that accept 17-inch bi-metal blades with pinhole mounting.
Power hacksaw blades are installed and replaced by machinists, pipefitters, and maintenance technicians. Before replacing the blade, power down the machine and allow any moving components to come to a full stop. Ensure the blade is oriented with the teeth pointing in the correct cutting direction per the machine manufacturer's guidance. Blade tension should be set according to the machine manufacturer's specification to avoid premature breakage or blade wander.
