The STARRETT 40105 is a bi-metal power hacksaw blade designed for use in stationary power hacksaw machines. It measures 14 inches in length, 1-5/8 inches in width, and 0.075 inches thick, with a 6 teeth-per-inch (TPI) constant pitch tooth pattern. The toothed edge runs the full length of the blade. Bi-metal construction bonds a high-speed steel tooth edge to a flexible alloy steel back, giving the blade both cutting durability and resistance to breakage under the cyclic load of power hacksaw operation. Machinists and maintenance technicians install this blade on bench-mounted power hacksaws for straight-line cutting of solid bar stock, structural steel, pipe, and other metal sections.
This blade is suited for cutting medium to large cross-section workpieces where a coarse 6 TPI pitch is appropriate. The 6 TPI pattern is well matched to thick ferrous and non-ferrous metals including solid bar, heavy-wall tubing, and angle iron. The constant pitch pattern maintains consistent chip load throughout the cut. Pinhole diameter of 0.281 inches is sized for standard power hacksaw blade pin mounts. This is a single-blade package intended for professional shop and field maintenance use.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement blade for standard 14-inch power hacksaw machines accepting blades with a 1-5/8 inch width and 0.281 inch pinhole diameter.
Power hacksaw blades are installed by machinists or maintenance technicians. Disconnect electrical power to the machine before replacing the blade. Secure the blade in the frame with the tooth edge oriented in the correct cutting direction per the machine manufacturer's guidance, and verify pin engagement before resuming operation. Blade tension should be set according to the machine manufacturer's specification.
