The STARRETT 21554 is a welded bi-metal bandsaw blade engineered for demanding metal-cutting applications in professional shop environments. Built on the Intenss PRO-VTH series platform, it measures 14 feet 4 inches in length, 1 inch in width, and 0.035 inches in thickness. The blade uses M42 high-speed steel teeth with a positive rake angle and a ground cutting edge for clean, accurate cuts. Variable pitch tooth spacing in the 4 to 6 TPI range reduces harmonic vibration and helps control chip load when cutting through varying cross-sections. Raker tooth set and straight tooth form make this blade well suited for contour cutting in steel and exotic steel stock.
This blade is intended for use in industrial and professional bandsaw machines that accept a 14-foot 4-inch loop blade. It is a standard replacement or upgrade choice for shops cutting solid steel bar stock, structural profiles, and exotic alloys. The flexible back construction handles tight radii and contour paths without fatigue cracking under normal production conditions. Metalworking shops, fabrication facilities, and maintenance departments regularly use blades in this class for production cutting and maintenance work on ferrous and specialty metals.
Designed as a direct-fit welded replacement blade for bandsaw machines accepting a 14-foot 4-inch by 1-inch wide blade with 0.035-inch thickness. Suitable for cutting steel and exotic steel materials.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tool-and-die technician following the bandsaw manufacturer's blade-change procedure. Power down and lock out the machine before removing the old blade or installing the new one. Verify wheel tracking, blade tension, and guide bearing clearance per the machine manufacturer's specifications before returning the saw to service. Do not exceed the blade speed rating of the host machine for the material being cut.
