The STARRETT 20737 is a welded bi-metal bandsaw blade built for cutting ferrous and non-ferrous metals in industrial and trade shop environments. It measures 150 inches (12 feet 6 inches) long and 1.25 inches wide with a blade thickness of 0.042 inches. The variable pitch tooth design ranges from 5 to 8 TPI, reducing harmonic vibration and improving cut quality across a range of stock profiles and wall thicknesses. High speed steel teeth are set in a raker pattern with a positive rake angle for aggressive, efficient chip removal. This blade belongs to the Intenss PRO series, engineered for demanding production cutting on metal fabrication equipment.
The 20737 is designed for use on stationary vertical or horizontal band saws in metal fabrication shops, maintenance facilities, and manufacturing environments. The 150-inch blade length and 1.25-inch width are common dimensions for mid-size industrial band saw machines. Suitable material applications include ferrous metals such as carbon steel, alloy steel, and structural shapes, as well as non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, brass, and copper. The flexible back type allows the blade to run continuously without fatigue cracking at typical band saw operating speeds.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or production blade for stationary band saws accepting a 150-inch (12 feet 6 inches) blade length with a 1.25-inch blade width and 0.042-inch blade thickness.
Blade installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or maintenance technician with the band saw fully powered down and locked out per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Verify wheel diameter, blade guides, and blade tension specifications on the machine before installing. Wear cut-resistant gloves when handling uncoiled or unpackaged band saw blades. Do not exceed the machine manufacturer's recommended blade speed for the selected tooth pitch and material application.
