The STARRETT 20627 is a welded bi-metal bandsaw blade engineered for demanding metal-cutting applications in professional shop environments. At 11 feet long, 1 inch wide, and 0.035 inches thick, this blade fits a range of standard floor-standing and industrial bandsaws. It features a variable pitch of 4 to 6 TPI with a raker tooth set, a positive rake angle, and a straight tooth form. The high-speed steel teeth are bonded to a flexible back, combining edge hardness with fatigue resistance over long cutting cycles. Part of the Intenss PRO series, this blade is built for consistent performance on both ferrous and non-ferrous metal stock. Licensed tradespeople and professional machinists are the primary installers and operators.
This blade is suited for production and maintenance cutting of ferrous metals such as structural steel, pipe, and bar stock, as well as non-ferrous materials including aluminum, brass, and copper. The variable pitch design reduces harmonic vibration during the cut, which helps maintain blade life and improves cut quality on varying cross-sections and interrupted cuts. It is appropriate for job shop, fabrication, and mechanical contracting environments where a durable, general-purpose metal-cutting bandsaw blade is required.
Designed as a replacement or spare welded bandsaw blade for industrial and floor-standing bandsaws accepting an 11-foot blade length, 1 inch width, and 0.035 inch thickness. Suitable for cutting ferrous and non-ferrous metals as stated in the product specifications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or maintenance technician familiar with bandsaw blade changes. Disconnect and lock out power to the saw before removing the old blade or mounting the new one. Verify wheel diameter, blade guides, and blade tension settings match the blade width and thickness before running the saw. Inspect guides, thrust bearings, and wheel tires for wear before returning the machine to service.
