The STARRETT 17586 is a welded bi-metal bandsaw blade designed for cutting steel, stainless steel, exotic steel, and non-ferrous metals. It measures 12 feet long and 1/2 inch wide with a 0.025-inch thickness. The blade runs on the Intenss PRO-DIE series platform, featuring M42 high speed steel teeth in a variable pitch configuration of 10 to 14 TPI. A raker tooth set with a positive rake angle delivers aggressive, efficient cutting on a wide range of metal stock. Licensed HVAC techs, machinists, pipefitters, and metal fabricators working with production or job-shop bandsaws will find this blade suited to demanding metal-cutting applications.
This blade is built for metal-cutting vertical and horizontal bandsaws where contour cutting and straight cutting of ferrous and non-ferrous materials are routine tasks. The variable pitch reduces harmonic vibration during the cut, which extends blade life and improves surface finish on tight-tolerance work. It is a fit for shops processing mild steel tubing, stainless plate, aluminum extrusions, and similar stock. The 12-foot welded loop is a common size for mid-range vertical bandsaw machines used in trade and fabrication environments.
Designed for metal-cutting vertical and horizontal bandsaws accepting a 12-foot welded blade loop that is 1/2 inch wide and 0.025 inches thick. Suitable for cutting steel, stainless steel, exotic steel, and non-ferrous metal stock.
Bandsaw blade installation should be performed by a qualified technician with the machine fully de-energized and locked out per applicable lockout/tagout procedures. Verify blade tension and tracking per the bandsaw manufacturer specifications before resuming operation. Wear cut-resistant gloves when handling the blade loop. Inspect blade guides and thrust bearings for wear before mounting a new blade.
