The STARRETT 17045 is a welded bi-metal bandsaw blade engineered for metal-cutting applications in industrial and shop environments. It measures 10 feet 9 inches long, 3/4 inch wide, and 0.035 inches thick, with a variable-pitch tooth pattern ranging from 6 to 10 TPI. The blade belongs to the Intenss PRO series and features high speed steel teeth bonded to a flexible alloy back, producing a construction that resists tooth stripout under interrupted cuts. The positive rake angle and raker tooth set combine to deliver efficient chip evacuation when cutting ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Licensed technicians and machinist-trade professionals are the primary installers.
This blade is suited for vertical or horizontal bandsaw machines used in metal fabrication, mechanical contracting shops, and maintenance facilities. The variable pitch tooth pattern reduces harmonic vibration during the cut, which is especially useful when working through varying cross-sections of structural steel, tubing, bar stock, aluminum extrusions, and similar ferrous and non-ferrous stock. The welded construction provides a continuous loop without joints that could cause tracking issues on the saw wheel.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit welded bandsaw blade for metal-cutting bandsaws requiring a 10-foot 9-inch continuous loop blade with a 3/4-inch width and 0.035-inch thickness.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or maintenance technician familiar with bandsaw blade tracking and tensioning procedures. Always power down and lock out the saw before changing blades. Verify that wheel guides, blade guides, and thrust bearings are properly set for the blade width before operation. Do not exceed the maximum blade speed rating of the host saw.
