The STARRETT 16716 is a welded bandsaw blade from the Duratec SFB series, built for continuous cutting in metal fabrication, woodworking, and plastics applications. It measures 9 feet 6 inches in length and 3/4 inch in width, with a blade thickness of 0.032 inches. The 6 TPI constant pitch tooth pattern delivers consistent material removal across a range of workpiece sizes. Both the blade body and teeth are carbon steel construction, offering reliable performance in light-duty ferrous and non-ferrous cutting applications. The flexible back type accommodates standard bandsaw wheel geometry without stress cracking during operation.
This blade is suited for contour cutting tasks in residential shops, light commercial fabrication, and trade service environments. Compatible material applications include ferrous metal, non-ferrous metal, plastic, and plywood, making it a versatile choice when a single blade must handle varied stock. The raker tooth set and straight tooth form are well matched to general-purpose cross-cutting and contour work. HVAC fabricators, plumbers, and general trade contractors cutting duct flanges, conduit, plastic pipe, or panel material will find this blade appropriate for shop bandsaws in that wheel-size range.
Designed as a direct-fit welded bandsaw blade for bandsaws accepting a 9-foot 6-inch blade loop, 3/4-inch blade width, and 0.032-inch blade thickness. Verify wheel diameter, blade guide clearance, and tension rating on the host machine before installation.
Bandsaw blade changes should be performed with the machine fully de-energized and the power switch locked out per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Wear cut-resistant gloves when handling the coiled or uncoiled blade. Confirm blade tracking and guide bearing clearance before applying tension and running the saw. Do not exceed the blade tension or wheel speed rating specified by the bandsaw manufacturer.
