The STARRETT 16632 is a welded bi-metal bandsaw blade engineered for demanding metal-cutting applications. Part of the Intenss PRO-DIE series, it measures 7 feet 9 inches long and 1/2 inch wide with a 0.025-inch thickness. The blade features a variable pitch tooth pattern ranging from 14 to 18 TPI, reducing vibration and improving cut quality across varying material thicknesses. High speed steel M42-grade teeth are bonded to a flexible back for durability under continuous use. The raker tooth set and positive rake angle promote efficient chip evacuation and consistent feed rates. Suitable for production bandsaw work, this blade is typically installed by machinists and metal fabricators.
This blade is designed for contour and straight cutting on steel, stainless steel, exotic steel, and non-ferrous metals. The variable pitch design makes it well suited for structural shapes, tubing, solid bar stock, and other profiles where a fixed-pitch blade would generate excessive vibration or noise. The M42 bi-metal construction handles the elevated heat and abrasion common in cutting tough alloys and stainless grades without premature tooth wear.
Designed for bandsaws accepting a 7-foot 9-inch blade loop with a 1/2-inch blade width. Verify your saw's wheel diameter and blade guide clearance before installation.
Bandsaw blade installation should be performed with the machine fully de-energized and locked out per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Wear cut-resistant gloves when handling and coiling the blade. Set blade tension and guide bearing clearance according to the saw manufacturer's specifications before powering on. Inspect blade welds for integrity prior to first use.
