The STARRETT 16619 is a welded bi-metal bandsaw blade from the Intenss series, engineered for continuous cutting of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The blade measures 9 feet 11-1/2 inches in length, 1 inch in width, and 0.035 inches in thickness. The variable-pitch tooth pattern at 4 to 6 TPI reduces vibration and harmonics during the cut, extending blade life and improving surface finish. High speed steel M42 teeth are set in a raker pattern with a positive rake angle for aggressive, efficient stock removal. Machinists, fabricators, and metal shop technicians are the primary installers and users of this blade.
This blade is suited for production and maintenance cutting on vertical or horizontal band saws with the appropriate wheel diameter and blade guide clearance to accept a 1-inch-wide blade. It handles structural steel, tubing, solid bar, aluminum, copper, and other ferrous and non-ferrous metal profiles. The flexible back construction allows the blade to track consistently on the saw's wheels without fatigue cracking under normal operating tension. It is appropriate for both job-shop and light production environments where a range of material types and cross sections are encountered.

Band saw blade installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or technician following the saw manufacturer's tensioning and tracking procedures. Disconnect and lock out power to the saw before handling or changing the blade. Use appropriate cut-resistant gloves when uncoiling or handling the blade. Do not exceed the saw manufacturer's specified blade tension or width capacity, as doing so can cause premature blade failure or equipment damage.
