The STARRETT 16472 is a welded bi-metal bandsaw blade engineered for continuous cutting in demanding shop and production environments. It measures 10 feet long and 1/2 inch wide with a 0.025-inch blade thickness, making it a direct-fit loop blade for compatible horizontal and vertical bandsaw machines. The blade is constructed from a flexible alloy steel back bonded to M42 high speed steel teeth, delivering heat and wear resistance on tough materials. At 4 TPI with a constant pitch and hook tooth form, it produces an aggressive, efficient cut suited to solid stock and thick-walled sections. Licensed electricians, HVAC techs, and metalworking tradespeople rely on this blade profile for reliable, repeatable cuts across production runs.
This blade is designed for cutting steel, stainless steel, exotic steel alloys, and non-ferrous metals. The Intenss PRO-DIE series targets die shop and general metalworking applications where material hardness and edge retention are critical. A raker tooth set and positive rake angle reduce cutting force and help clear chips efficiently, keeping the blade running cool through extended use. It is well suited to both intermittent job shop work and higher-volume production scenarios where blade longevity matters.
Designed as a welded loop replacement blade for bandsaw machines accepting a 10-foot, 1/2-inch-wide blade. Suitable for cutting steel, stainless steel, exotic steel, and non-ferrous metals as specified by the manufacturer.
Bandsaw blade replacement should be performed by a qualified metalworking technician with the machine fully powered down and locked out per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Verify wheel diameter, blade guide spacing, and blade tension specifications on the host machine before installing. Wear cut-resistant gloves when handling and uncoiling the welded loop. Inspect blade guides and wheel tires for wear before mounting the new blade to avoid premature blade failure.
