The STARRETT 16421 is a welded bi-metal bandsaw blade engineered for continuous cutting in metal fabrication and maintenance applications. The blade measures 64.5 inches in length and 0.5 inches in width, with a 0.025-inch thickness and a constant 18 TPI pitch. The cutting teeth are manufactured from M42 high-speed steel, a cobalt-bearing grade that holds an edge under heat and friction. The wavy tooth set and positive rake angle work together to reduce vibration and improve chip clearance on both ferrous and non-ferrous metals. This blade is part of the Intenss series and is sold as a single unit.
This blade is suited for contour cutting operations on ferrous metals such as mild steel, tool steel, and structural sections, as well as non-ferrous metals including aluminum, brass, and copper. The constant 18 TPI pitch makes it well matched for thin-wall tubing, bar stock, and light structural shapes where consistent chip load is required. It is a ready-to-install welded blade intended for portable or bench-top bandsaw machines used by metal fabricators, maintenance technicians, and industrial tradespeople.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement welded bandsaw blade for portable and bench-top metal-cutting bandsaw machines that accept a 64.5-inch blade loop with a 0.5-inch width.
Installation should be performed by a qualified technician following the bandsaw manufacturer's blade-change procedure. Power down and lockout the machine before removing the old blade or threading the new one. Verify blade tension and wheel alignment per the machine manufacturer's specifications before resuming cutting operations. Eye protection and cut-resistant gloves are required when handling bandsaw blades.
