The STARRETT 16291 is a welded bi-metal bandsaw blade designed for cutting ferrous and non-ferrous metals in industrial and trade shop environments. Measuring 114 inches in length and 3/4 inch wide with a 0.035 inch thickness, this blade runs on horizontal and vertical metal-cutting bandsaws in production and maintenance settings. The variable pitch tooth pattern, spanning 6 to 10 TPI, reduces harmonic vibration and improves cut quality across varying cross-sections. High speed steel teeth are set in a raker pattern with a positive rake angle, delivering aggressive, consistent stock removal. This is a Starrett Intenss PRO series blade built for professional metal-cutting applications.
The 16291 is suited for ferrous metal and non-ferrous metal cutting in fabrication shops, maintenance facilities, and machine shops. The variable pitch configuration handles structural shapes, solid bar stock, tubing, and pipe with reduced blade breakage and chatter. The flexible back construction helps the blade track smoothly around bandsaw wheels without fatigue cracking. This blade is not intended for contour cutting and should be matched to bandsaws with the appropriate wheel diameter and guide setup for a 114-inch blade length.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit welded bandsaw blade for metal-cutting bandsaws requiring a 114-inch blade length with a 3/4 inch width.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or maintenance technician familiar with bandsaw blade tensioning and guide adjustment procedures. Power down and lock out the bandsaw before removing the old blade or installing the new one. Set blade tension and guide spacing according to the bandsaw manufacturer's specifications for a 3/4 inch wide blade. Inspect blade tracking after initial startup and re-adjust guides as needed before cutting under load.
