The STARRETT 16235 is a welded bi-metal bandsaw blade designed for continuous cutting of ferrous and non-ferrous metals in industrial and trade shop environments. Measuring 15 feet in length and 1-1/4 inches wide with a 0.042-inch thickness, this blade is part of the Intenss PRO series. The variable pitch tooth pattern runs at 6 to 10 teeth per inch, which reduces harmonic vibration and improves cut quality across a range of stock sizes. High speed steel teeth are set in a raker pattern with a positive rake angle, delivering aggressive, efficient cuts. Licensed machinists, fabricators, and maintenance technicians are the primary installers and users.
This blade is suited for production and job-shop bandsaws cutting structural steel, tubing, solid bar, aluminum extrusions, and similar ferrous and non-ferrous stock. The flexible back construction allows the blade to track consistently on standard vertical or horizontal bandsaw machines. The variable pitch design makes it practical for operators switching between thin-wall sections and solid stock without swapping blades. It is not intended for contour cutting applications.
Designed to fit bandsaw machines accepting a 15-foot welded loop blade with a 1-1/4 inch width. Verify your machine's wheel diameter and blade guide specifications before installation to confirm fitment.
Blade installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or maintenance technician with the bandsaw fully de-energized and locked out per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Wear cut-resistant gloves when handling the coiled blade. Set blade tension and guide clearance according to the bandsaw manufacturer's specifications before powering the machine. Inspect blade welds and tooth condition before each use.
