The STARRETT 16133 is a welded bi-metal bandsaw blade engineered for demanding cutting applications in metal fabrication and industrial environments. Part of the Versatix MP series, it measures 131 inches in length and 3/4 inches in width with a blade thickness of 0.035 inches. The variable pitch tooth pattern spans 8 to 12 TPI, reducing harmonic vibration and improving cut quality across varying material cross-sections. Teeth are formed from M42 high speed steel and configured in a raker set with a positive rake angle, delivering aggressive, consistent stock removal. Licensed HVAC techs, machinists, pipefitters, and structural steel fabricators rely on this blade for continuous-duty cutting in production environments.
The STARRETT 16133 is suited for cutting structural steel in both job-shop and production settings. The variable pitch design performs well on structural profiles, tubing, and solid bar stock where uniform TPI blades tend to chatter or stall. The flexible back construction allows the blade to track smoothly on standard two-wheel and three-wheel bandsaw machines. This blade is not configured for contour cutting and is intended for straight cuts through metal workpieces. It is sold individually and is a direct welded blade ready to mount without additional joining.
Designed as an OEM-style welded replacement blade for standard bandsaw machines accepting a 131-inch blade loop in 3/4-inch width, used in structural steel cutting applications.
Bandsaw blade replacement is typically performed by a machinist or qualified shop technician. Before mounting, power down and lock out the bandsaw at the main disconnect per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Verify wheel diameter and blade tracking guides are properly set to accommodate the 3/4-inch blade width before tensioning. Do not overtension the blade; follow the bandsaw manufacturer's tension specifications for the given blade width and thickness.
