The STARRETT 16121 is a welded bi-metal bandsaw blade engineered for cutting structural steel in metal-cutting bandsaw applications. Built on the Versatix MP series platform, this blade combines an M42 high speed steel tooth edge with a flexible backing to handle the stress of contour and straight cuts on heavy ferrous materials. At 11 feet 10 inches in length, 1 inch wide, and 0.035 inches thick, it is sized for mid-range industrial and shop bandsaws. The variable 10-14 TPI pitch pattern reduces harmonic vibration during the cut, improving surface finish and extending blade life on structural profiles.
This blade is intended for professional metalworking environments where structural steel — including angle iron, tube, bar stock, and similar profiles — is cut regularly on horizontal or vertical bandsaws. The raker tooth set and positive rake angle promote aggressive chip evacuation, making it well suited to production cutting cycles. Fabrication shops, maintenance technicians, and ironworkers are the primary installers and users of this blade type.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or aftermarket bandsaw blade for mid-range metal-cutting bandsaws accepting an 11-foot 10-inch blade length, 1-inch blade width, and 0.035-inch thickness.
Bandsaw blade installation should be performed by a qualified technician following the bandsaw manufacturer's tensioning and tracking procedures. Always power down and lock out the machine before opening blade guards or handling the blade. Wear cut-resistant gloves when uncoiling or handling the blade. Verify that blade length, width, and thickness match the saw's specifications before installation to avoid improper tracking or wheel damage.
