The STARRETT 16111 is a bi-metal welded bandsaw blade engineered for metal-cutting applications in industrial and trade environments. Measuring 12 feet 6 inches in length and 0.035 inches thick with a 3/4-inch width, this blade runs on horizontal and vertical metal-cutting bandsaws found in fabrication shops, maintenance facilities, and machine shops. The variable-pitch tooth design in a 6 to 10 TPI range reduces vibration and harmonic noise during cuts, extending blade life and improving surface finish. High speed steel teeth are electron-beam welded to a flexible bi-metal back, combining edge retention with resistance to tooth strippage on interrupted cuts. Part of the Intenss PRO series, this blade is suited for professional metalworking use.
The STARRETT 16111 is designed for cutting ferrous and non-ferrous metals including structural steel, alloy steel, aluminum, brass, and copper. Its raker tooth set and positive rake angle promote aggressive chip clearance in solid bar stock, tubing, and structural shapes. The variable pitch pattern makes it effective across a wide range of cross-sections without requiring a blade change. Licensed metalworking professionals, maintenance machinists, and fabricators working with production or job-shop bandsaws are the primary installers and users of this blade.
Designed as a welded-loop replacement blade for metal-cutting bandsaws that accept a 12-foot 6-inch blade length with a 3/4-inch width and 0.035-inch blade thickness. Verify wheel diameter, blade guides, and blade tension specifications on the saw before installation.
Bandsaw blade installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or maintenance technician with the saw fully de-energized and locked out per applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Confirm blade tracking, tension, and guide clearances according to the saw manufacturer specifications before running the blade under load. Wear cut-resistant gloves when handling coiled or looped bandsaw blades. Do not exceed the blade speed or feed rate appropriate for the material being cut.
