The STARRETT 15989 is a bi-metal welded bandsaw blade from the Intenss PRO series, designed for cutting ferrous and non-ferrous metals in industrial and trade shop environments. The blade measures 188 inches in total length and 3/4 inch in width, with a 0.035 inch thickness that provides a balance of flexibility and durability through the cut. High speed steel teeth are bonded to a flexible alloy back, giving the blade resistance to heat and wear during high-cycle production cutting. The variable pitch tooth pattern, ranging from 6 to 10 TPI, reduces vibration and harmonics across varying material thicknesses. Bandsaw blade replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or maintenance technician. Disconnect and lock out power to the saw before opening blade guards or handling the blade. Verify that wheel diameter and blade guide spacing on the saw are compatible with the 188 inch loop length and 3/4 inch width before mounting. Follow the saw manufacturer's tensioning guidelines — improper tension causes premature blade fatigue and weld failure.
