The STARRETT 15864 is a welded carbon steel bandsaw blade from the Duratec SFB series, designed for continuous-loop installation on stationary band saws. At 19 feet in length, 1 inch wide, and 0.035 inches thick, it fits a range of mid-size and large floor-standing band saw frames. The hook tooth form with a positive rake angle drives aggressive chip clearance, while the raker tooth set balances cut speed with surface finish. Running at 2 TPI, this blade is suited for thick cross-sections and resawing operations. Fabricators, millwrights, and metalworking shops are the typical installers.
This blade is rated for contour cutting and handles a broad range of materials including ferrous metal, non-ferrous metal, plastic, and plywood. The constant pitch pattern at 2 TPI keeps vibration predictable across varying workpiece densities. The flexible back type reduces fatigue cracking during continuous operation on curved or contoured cuts. It is well matched to production environments where blade longevity and cut consistency across mixed-material workloads are priorities.
Designed as a direct-fit welded replacement blade for stationary band saws accepting a 19-foot loop, 1-inch-wide blade. Confirmed material applications include ferrous metal, non-ferrous metal, plastic, and plywood per manufacturer specification.
Band saw blade replacement should be performed by a qualified technician with the saw fully de-energized and locked out per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Blade tension and tracking must be set according to the band saw manufacturer specifications before resuming cuts. Wear cut-resistant gloves when handling the coiled blade during installation. Inspect blade guides and thrust bearings for wear before mounting a new blade.
