The STARRETT 15841 is a bi-metal band saw blade coil stock designed for continuous cutting operations in metal fabrication, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical trade shops. The coil measures 100 feet in length and 3/8 inches wide, with a blade thickness of 0.025 inches. The cutting edge uses a variable pitch tooth pattern at 10-14 teeth per inch (TPI) with a raker set and straight tooth form, making it effective across a range of metal profiles and wall thicknesses. The high speed steel teeth are bonded to an alloy steel back for durability under sustained use. Technicians cut blades to length from the coil to fit their specific band saw model.
This coil stock suits residential and commercial trade applications where custom blade lengths are needed. It is commonly used in plumbing and HVAC shops for cutting pipe, conduit, strut, and metal stock. The variable pitch design reduces vibration and harmonic chatter during cuts, which is especially useful when cutting thin-wall tubing or irregular cross-sections. The contour-cutting capability makes this blade stock appropriate for curved or irregular cuts as well as straight work.
Designed as a universal coil stock for band saws that accept 3/8-inch-wide blades. Blade lengths are cut from the coil by the installer to match the specific band saw model in use.
Blade cutting and installation should be performed by a qualified technician familiar with band saw equipment. Power down and unplug the saw before changing or installing a blade. Use appropriate blade-joining equipment such as a welder or mechanical connector when fabricating blades from coil stock. Handle coiled blade stock with care, as the high speed steel teeth present a laceration hazard during uncoiling and cutting.
