The STARRETT 15802 is a welded bi-metal bandsaw blade engineered for demanding cutting applications in metal fabrication and industrial maintenance environments. The blade measures 64.5 inches in length, 0.5 inches wide, and 0.02 inches thick, with a variable pitch of 10 to 14 TPI. The variable pitch tooth pattern reduces harmonic vibration during cutting, extending blade life and improving cut quality. The high-speed steel teeth are bonded to a flexible back, combining edge hardness with body resilience. This blade is installed by machinists, maintenance technicians, and fabricators working with horizontal and vertical bandsaws.
The STARRETT 15802 is suited for cutting steel, ferrous metals, and aluminum in both production and job-site environments. The raker tooth set and straight tooth form make it a reliable choice for general-purpose contour cutting and straight crosscuts on solid bar stock, structural shapes, and tubing. The Univerz series designation indicates a versatile design intended to perform across a range of material thicknesses and cross-sections without requiring a blade change.
Designed as a welded replacement bandsaw blade for horizontal and vertical bandsaws accepting a 64.5-inch by 0.5-inch blade in 10 to 14 TPI variable pitch configuration.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or maintenance technician with the bandsaw powered down and locked out per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Verify blade tracking, blade guides, and tension settings before resuming operation. Blade tension and guide clearance should be set according to the bandsaw manufacturer specifications for the blade width and thickness being installed. Inspect blade welds and teeth before first use and do not operate with a cracked weld or damaged tooth set.
