The STARRETT 15618 is a welded bi-metal bandsaw blade engineered for continuous cutting of ferrous and non-ferrous metals in industrial and shop environments. Part of the Intenss series, this blade measures 14 feet 9 inches in length and 1/2 inch in width, with a blade thickness of 0.035 inches. The M42 high-speed steel tooth material delivers hardness and heat resistance under sustained cutting loads. A constant 10 TPI pitch and raker tooth set make this blade well suited to production cutting where consistent chip clearance and finish quality are required. Licensed HVAC techs, machinists, pipefitters, and fabricators working with structural steel, tube, bar stock, and non-ferrous materials are the primary installers of this blade type.
The STARRETT 15618 is used in vertical and horizontal bandsaw machines for cutting ferrous metals such as mild steel, stainless, and alloy stock, as well as non-ferrous materials including aluminum and copper alloys. The straight tooth form and positive rake angle improve feed rates and reduce blade deflection during contour and straight cuts. The flexible back type allows the blade to track smoothly around bandsaw wheels without stress fatigue over extended use. This blade is a fit for production shops, fabrication facilities, and maintenance operations running 14 foot 9 inch bandsaw wheel configurations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit welded bandsaw blade for bandsaws requiring a 14 foot 9 inch blade with a 1/2 inch width. Suitable for cutting ferrous metal and non-ferrous metal as stated by the manufacturer.
Bandsaw blade installation and tensioning should be performed by a qualified machinist or maintenance technician with the machine fully powered down and locked out per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Use appropriate blade-handling gloves when removing the old blade and seating the new one around the wheels and guides. Set blade tension and guide clearances according to the bandsaw manufacturer specifications before resuming operation. Inspect blade welds and tooth condition before each use.
