The STARRETT 15117 is a welded carbon steel bandsaw blade from the Duratec SFB series, designed for continuous contour cutting on metal-cutting and general-purpose bandsaws. The blade measures 101 inches in total length and 5/8 inch in width, with a blade thickness of 0.032 inches and a constant-pitch 14 TPI tooth configuration. The raker tooth set and straight tooth form deliver consistent chip clearance and a controlled cut through a wide range of materials. This blade is handled and installed by machinists, fabricators, and maintenance technicians working with production or shop-floor vertical bandsaws.
The STARRETT 15117 is suited for cutting ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals, plastics, and plywood. Its flexible back construction allows it to track smoothly around bandsaw wheels without premature fatigue cracking, making it a practical choice for both intermittent and sustained cutting cycles in light industrial and job-shop environments. The constant 14 TPI pitch provides uniform chip load, which is especially effective on thin-walled tubing, bar stock, and sheet goods where a variable-pitch blade is not required.
Designed as a welded replacement bandsaw blade for vertical bandsaws accepting a 101-inch blade length and 5/8-inch blade width. Verify wheel diameter, blade guide clearance, and tension specifications on the host machine before installation.
Blade installation should be performed by a qualified technician with the bandsaw fully powered down and the machine disconnected from its power source. Confirm that blade tension, tracking, and guide settings are adjusted per the bandsaw manufacturer specifications before resuming operation. Wear cut-resistant gloves when handling the blade, as the toothed edge presents a laceration hazard during coiling and mounting. Do not exceed the blade speed rating of the host machine for the material being cut.
