The STARRETT 15068 is a welded bi-metal bandsaw blade engineered for continuous cutting of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Measuring 65 inches in length and 0.5 inches wide with a blade thickness of 0.035 inches, it runs at 14 teeth per inch (TPI) in a constant pitch configuration. The cutting teeth are ground from M42 high speed steel and set in a raker pattern with a positive rake angle for aggressive, efficient stock removal. This blade is part of the Intenss series and is designed for professional metalworking applications where consistent cut quality and blade life are priorities. Licensed metalworkers and fabricators are the primary installers and users.
The STARRETT 15068 suits production and job-shop bandsaw operations cutting a broad range of ferrous metals such as steel and iron as well as non-ferrous materials including aluminum and brass. The contour-cutting capability makes it appropriate for curved cuts as well as straight crosscuts and ripping operations. Its flexible back type allows it to run on standard vertical bandsaw frames without undue stress at the weld joint. The constant pitch at 14 TPI targets medium-section metal stock where chip clearance and cut speed are balanced for general shop use.
Designed as a welded replacement bandsaw blade for vertical metal-cutting bandsaws that accept a 65-inch blade length and 0.5-inch blade width. Verify wheel diameter, blade guide clearance, and tension capacity on the saw before installation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified metalworker or machine operator familiar with bandsaw blade changes. Disconnect and lock out power to the bandsaw before removing the old blade or fitting the new one. Ensure blade tension is set per the saw manufacturer's specification and that blade guides and thrust bearings are properly adjusted to the blade width before running. Do not exceed the blade speed rating of the saw or force feed material against the blade under initial break-in cuts.
