The STARRETT 14683 is a welded bi-metal bandsaw blade engineered for continuous cutting in metal fabrication and general shop applications. Measuring 12 feet 7 inches in length and 0.5 inches wide with a 0.035 inch thickness, this blade runs on bandsaw machines sized to accept that loop length. The cutting edge features 10 teeth per inch at a constant pitch with a raker tooth set and positive rake angle. The tooth tips are M42 high-speed steel, delivering heat resistance and edge retention when cutting ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The flexible back keeps the blade running true under tension without fatigue cracking.
This blade is suited for horizontal and vertical metal-cutting bandsaws in fabrication shops, maintenance facilities, and trade environments. The constant 10 TPI pitch and raker set make it well matched to solid bar stock, structural shapes, and tubing in both ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It belongs to the Intenss series, which is designed around M42 cobalt high-speed steel tooth tips for extended blade life in production cutting cycles. Licensed machinists, pipefitters, and metal fabricators are the primary installers of this blade type.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit blade for metal-cutting bandsaw machines that accept a 12 foot 7 inch loop length with a 0.5 inch blade width. Suitable for cutting ferrous metal and non-ferrous metal workpieces.
Blade installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or maintenance technician. Power down and lock out the bandsaw before removing the existing blade or mounting the new one. Verify wheel diameter, blade guide spacing, and tensioner range are compatible with a 0.5 inch wide, 0.035 inch thick blade before installing. Follow the bandsaw manufacturer guidelines for blade tension and tracking adjustment before returning the machine to service.
