The STARRETT 14503 is a welded bandsaw blade from the Duratec SFB series, designed for contour and straight cutting on a wide range of materials. It measures 110 inches in total length, 0.75 inches wide, and 0.032 inches thick. The blade is constructed entirely of carbon steel, including both the back and tooth material, with a raker tooth set and straight tooth form running at a constant 14 teeth per inch pitch. The flexible back type allows the blade to handle curved and contour cuts without fatigue cracking. This blade is pre-welded and ready to install on compatible bandsaws, making it a direct drop-in for maintenance and production shops.
The 14503 is suited for cutting ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals, plastics, and plywood, making it a versatile blade for metal fabrication shops, HVAC sheet metal work, plumbing fabrication, and general trade use. The 14 TPI constant pitch is appropriate for medium-thickness stock where a clean, controlled cut is required. The raker tooth set balances cutting speed with chip clearance, which is well matched to the material range this blade covers.
Designed for use on bandsaws accepting a 110-inch blade length with a 0.75-inch blade width. Compatible material applications include ferrous metal, non-ferrous metal, plastic, and plywood per manufacturer specifications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified technician with the bandsaw fully powered down and locked out before handling the blade. Confirm wheel diameter, blade guides, and blade tension specifications on the host machine before installing to ensure proper tracking and tension. Blade tracking and guide alignment should be verified after installation and before cutting. Always wear cut-resistant gloves when handling bandsaw blades.
