The STARRETT 14384 is a welded bi-metal bandsaw blade engineered for continuous cutting of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Built on the Intenss series platform, it runs 174 inches long and 0.5 inches wide with a blade thickness of 0.035 inches. The cutting edge is ground to a constant 14 teeth per inch (TPI) with a raker tooth set and positive rake angle, delivering consistent chip clearance and straight-line cutting performance. The M42 high-speed steel tooth material provides hardness and heat resistance suitable for demanding production and fabrication environments. This blade is installed by machinists, metal fabricators, and maintenance technicians working with horizontal or vertical bandsaw equipment.
The 14384 is suited for contour and straight cutting applications on ferrous metals such as mild steel, alloy steel, and structural sections, as well as non-ferrous metals including aluminum, brass, and copper. The constant pitch pattern and raker set make it a practical choice for general-purpose metal cutting in job shops, maintenance facilities, and light manufacturing environments where a single blade must handle a variety of stock profiles and material types.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement bandsaw blade for metal-cutting bandsaw machines accepting a 174-inch (14 feet 6 inches) by 0.5-inch blade loop.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or maintenance technician with the bandsaw fully de-energized and locked out per applicable LOTO procedures before blade removal or installation. Blade tension and tracking should be set according to the bandsaw manufacturer specifications for the blade width and thickness. Inspect blade guides, thrust bearings, and wheel tires for wear before mounting a new blade. Confirm blade loop orientation so that tooth direction matches the cutting direction of the saw wheel rotation.
