The STARRETT 14088 is a welded carbon steel bandsaw blade from the Duratec SFB series, designed for continuous contour cutting on stationary band saw machines. The blade runs 93 inches in total length, measures 5/8 inch wide, and is 0.032 inches thick with a constant 14 teeth-per-inch pitch. The raker tooth set and straight tooth form deliver consistent chip clearance across a range of materials. The flexible back type reduces stress fatigue during curved cuts. HVAC sheet metal shops, plumbing contractors, and light fabrication facilities commonly stock this blade for cutting ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, and plywood.
The 14088 is suited for stationary horizontal and vertical band saws used in trade shop and light industrial environments. Its 14 TPI constant pitch makes it a general-purpose choice when cutting thin-wall tubing, angle iron, strut channel, plastic conduit, and plywood stock. The blade is factory-welded and ready to mount without field joining. Material applications include ferrous metal, non-ferrous metal, plastic, and plywood, making it useful across HVAC, plumbing, and electrical fabrication workflows.
Designed as a factory-welded replacement blade for stationary band saws accepting a 93-inch blade length and 5/8-inch blade width. Verify wheel diameter, blade guide spacing, and blade tension specifications on the host saw before installation.
Band saw blade installation should be performed by a qualified technician with the saw fully de-energized and locked out per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Confirm blade tracking, guide clearance, and tension adjustment before powering the saw. Wear cut-resistant gloves when handling the blade coil. Do not force the blade onto wheels or kink the blade during mounting.
