The STARRETT 13962 is a bi-metal band saw blade coil stock designed for continuous-cut applications where shop-cut blade lengths are required. The coil spans 100 feet and cuts to any length needed on site. Blade width is 0.5 inches, blade thickness is 0.035 inches, and tooth pitch is a constant 14 teeth per inch. The cutting edge is high speed steel, while the back material is alloy steel, giving the blade the flexibility of alloy steel with the edge retention of HSS. Raker tooth set and straight tooth form make this blade well suited for general-purpose metal cutting.
This coil stock is used in industrial and trade shop environments where technicians cut custom blade lengths for vertical or horizontal band saws. The constant 14 TPI pitch is appropriate for cutting solid stock, tubing, and structural sections in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Contour cutting capability allows the blade to navigate curved profiles. It is typically used by machinists, fabricators, maintenance technicians, and tool room personnel who need flexibility in blade length across multiple saw frames.
Designed as a shop-cut coil stock for band saws accepting 0.5-inch-wide blades with a 0.035-inch blade thickness. Cut to length to fit any compatible saw frame.
Blade cutting and joining should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician using appropriate blade-welding or brazing equipment. Power down and lockout the band saw before installing any blade. Verify blade tension and tracking per the saw manufacturer's guidelines before resuming operation. Wear cut-resistant gloves when handling uncoiled blade stock.
