The STARRETT 13831 is a carbon steel band saw blade coil stock designed for continuous-length cutting applications in shop and industrial environments. The coil measures 100 feet in length with a blade width of 3/8 inches and a blade thickness of 0.025 inches. With 6 teeth per inch and a raker tooth set, this blade delivers efficient material removal across a range of workpiece profiles. The flexible back construction allows the blade to be cut to any required length and welded to fit specific band saw frame sizes, making it a practical stock solution for shops that run multiple machines or need custom blade lengths on demand.
This coil stock is suited for contour cutting operations on wood, non-ferrous metals, plastics, and similar materials where a 6 TPI constant-pitch blade is appropriate. It is a common choice for production shops, maintenance facilities, and fabrication operations that prefer to cut and weld their own blades rather than stocking multiple pre-welded sizes. The straight tooth form and straight rake angle are well matched to general-purpose cross-cutting and contour work at moderate feed rates.
Designed as a general-purpose coil stock for band saws that accept 3/8 inch wide blades. Intended to be cut to length and butt-welded or flash-welded to fit specific machine throat and wheel dimensions.
Installation and blade cutting should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician familiar with band saw blade welding equipment. Disengage and lock out the band saw before removing or installing any blade. Ensure the welded joint is annealed and dressed flat before mounting to prevent vibration or premature breakage. Verify blade tension and tracking per the machine manufacturer's specifications before resuming operation.
