The STARRETT 13700 is a welded bi-metal bandsaw blade engineered for continuous cutting of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. At 174 inches long, 1-1/4 inches wide, and 0.042 inches thick, this blade fits standard metal-cutting bandsaws used in fabrication shops, maintenance facilities, and industrial cutting operations. The variable pitch tooth pattern, ranging from 6 to 10 TPI, reduces harmonic vibration and delivers smoother cuts across varying stock thicknesses. High speed steel teeth bonded to a flexible alloy back provide the edge retention needed for production cutting while resisting blade fatigue and breakage under continuous load.
This blade is suited for ferrous metal cutting applications including structural steel, tubing, angle iron, and solid bar stock, as well as non-ferrous materials such as aluminum, brass, and copper. The 6-10 TPI variable pitch configuration handles a broad range of cross-sections in a single blade, making it a practical choice for shops that cut mixed stock without frequent blade changes. The Intenss PRO series is designed for high-demand production environments where blade life and cut quality directly affect throughput. Licensed machinists, fabricators, and industrial maintenance technicians are the primary installers and operators.
Designed as an OEM-style welded replacement blade for metal-cutting bandsaws accepting a 174-inch blade length, 1-1/4-inch width, and 0.042-inch thickness. Material applications include ferrous metal and non-ferrous metal as specified by the manufacturer.
Bandsaw blade installation should be performed by qualified personnel with the machine fully de-energized and locked out per applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Verify blade tension, wheel tracking, and guide bearing clearances according to the bandsaw manufacturer's specifications before resuming operation. Wear cut-resistant gloves when handling coiled or uncoiled bandsaw blades. Inspect blade welds and teeth for damage before installation and do not operate a blade showing cracks, missing teeth, or weld defects.
