The STARRETT 12781 is a welded carbon steel bandsaw blade from the Duratec SFB series, designed for continuous-loop installation on stationary vertical or horizontal bandsaws. At 150 inches (12 feet 6 inches) long and 1/4 inch wide with a 0.025-inch thickness, it runs a constant 4 TPI skip-tooth pattern with a raker set and straight rake angle. This combination suits general-purpose contour cutting through a range of materials. The flexible back construction reduces fatigue cracking during operation, and the welded joint provides a smooth, consistent loop. Metalworking shops, fabricators, and general tradework environments are the primary users.
The 12781 is suited for contour and straight cutting in light-to-medium duty applications. Its 4 TPI constant-pitch skip-tooth geometry is effective across ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals, plastics, and plywood. The 1/4-inch width allows for tighter radius cuts that wider blades cannot navigate. It fits bandsaws with a 12-foot-6-inch wheel-to-wheel blade path and is sold as a single welded loop, requiring no field joining.
Designed to fit bandsaws requiring a 12-foot-6-inch welded loop blade with a 1/4-inch width and 0.025-inch blade thickness. Verify wheel-to-wheel blade path and blade guide clearance before installation.
Blade installation should be performed by a qualified operator following the bandsaw manufacturer's service procedures. Disengage power and lock out the machine before removing or mounting the blade. Confirm blade tension settings using the saw's built-in tension scale for the 1/4-inch width. Wear cut-resistant gloves when handling the coiled or looped blade.
